>Bicycle Shop 1912
> Photo found at Shorpy.com This is a photo of a bike shop in Detroit, Michigan. I find a couple things interesting about it. One is that Detroit, as most people know, became so synonymous with the automobile at one time that it became known as the Motor City. This photo was taken in 1912Continue reading “>Bicycle Shop 1912”

The Meyers Luggage Carrier / Kick-Stand circa 1914
Images found here. The advert says it can carry 100 lbs (45K) plus a 150 lb (68K) rider…not bad. An early cargo bike attachment / conversion. Click the images for a larger view.

Wet…but a nice short ride
This has without question been an odd winter. The temperatures and snow have been fluctuating daily…and somewhat extremely (I think). Yesterday it was frigid, for example, but today it is warm and rainy; tomorrow the temp is supposed to drop again and bring with it more snow. This is something like the third time thisContinue reading “Wet…but a nice short ride”

A Cold and Snowy Ride on the Mundo…and a few things I saw and experienced.
This past week I’ve had off work (have to go back tomorrow…not looking forward to it) and because of the very cold weather that has returned I’ve been in a sort of hibernation mode and have only using bikes for very short rides (and have been using my truck more than I like). At anyContinue reading “A Cold and Snowy Ride on the Mundo…and a few things I saw and experienced.”

Vicariously Inspiring
Photo credit: Channi Anand I came across this picture earlier today and was immediately taken by it for a few reasons. The first is that I just think it looks beautiful and soothing, but also–I’m sure–is that I was barely outside today (other than using my truck to do errands) and missed being on aContinue reading “Vicariously Inspiring”

Bicycle Workshop
This is a short video of a bicycle workshop my son attended earlier this month. I first posted about it here (showing the bike he built), but much to his embarassment–and being the proud papa that I am–I thought I’d share this video as well. He is actually only in it for a few secondsContinue reading “Bicycle Workshop”
