Perspective…

per·spec·tive n. a. A view or vista. b. A mental view or outlook This blog, in a way, has always been a sort of emotional medicine for me in the public arena. In what I write but also in the photos I post. Like many, I suppose, I have been a worrier since I wasContinue reading “Perspective…”

50 years ago today…

It was 50 years ago today that the March on Washington took place. It inspires me still. The below link is a clip of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous speech. You’ve likely heard it, seen it, or read it before. But in the event you haven’t (or even if you have), here itContinue reading “50 years ago today…”

The passage of time, on being present, and a quote or two…

Okay. So first off, it is not very often that I post pictures of myself (almost never) but here you have it. This is a photo of my son and I as we (his mom and I) were dropping him off at his first year of college (the color-coordinated shirts were purely coincidence). And asContinue reading “The passage of time, on being present, and a quote or two…”

In the garden after the rain…

No this is not my personal garden, these photos were taken in the garden of my place of employment. I had mentioned a few times prior that I am lucky enough to work in a place with such a lovely garden (and one which I can walk when it is empty) and I often findContinue reading “In the garden after the rain…”

Image Found Here. “Oh no I’ve said too much; I haven’t said enough…” ~Michael Stipe, Losing My Religion This is a bit of personal stuff but I feel like I have to say it. There are a few people that know me that read this blog, and a number that I feel like I know—toContinue reading “Where I’m at…”

Super color burst times twenty and why I am thankful for it…

“If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that would be sufficient.”  ~ Meister Johann Eckhardt   In the general scheme of things I have so many things to be thankful for…but sometimes (oftentimes) with the business of life and distractions it is difficult to remember this. This week, for example, has beenContinue reading “Super color burst times twenty and why I am thankful for it…”

The real heros in the world…

In the midst of the chaos, violence, self-indulgence, and celebrity-ism in which we sometimes find ourselves today, this man–Narayanan Krishnan–is really inspiring. In a way, he makes me think of a modern day Good Samaritan but on a larger scale (though he did start this journey by helping just one single man). He is aContinue reading “The real heros in the world…”

The Sun Also Sets…

It has been so hot and humid these past few days. Last evening I rode down to the waterfront with hopes of some relief (some, but not much), but the sunset I encountered was nothing short of stunning. I took dozens of photos and thought I’d share a couple. The top is of Buffalo HarborContinue reading “The Sun Also Sets…”

Some may call me a dreamer (but I’m not the only one)…

Anne Frank was born 84 years ago today only to have her precious life cut short a mere 15 years later. Just imagine what she and countless other visionaries may have accomplished. My solace is that I am still moved by their actions and words long after they are no longer on this physical plane.Continue reading “Some may call me a dreamer (but I’m not the only one)…”

The View from My Handlebars…Undulatus Asperatus

I find this stuff fascinating.  Clouds, stars, atmosphere… you get it. Anyhow, I saw these cloud formations as I pedaled to the health club tonight. They look really good in the photos but in real life they were breathtaking. They quite literally stopped me in my tracks a few times (when I took these photos).Continue reading “The View from My Handlebars…Undulatus Asperatus”
