> Though it may look like it, that is not my Mundo pictured above. These are pictures sent in from Dan, a reader of this blog and fellow Mundo rider (thanks Dan!). During the course of posts, comments, and virtual conversation, a few of us were curious as to how the Mundo bread platform mountedContinue reading “>Mundo with Bread Platform”

>Another Pic from a Fellow Yuba Mundo Rider
> This photo was sent to me by Don in Davis, California. He’s a photojournalist at university there and carries his gear with him to school. Here is what’s on Don’s Mundo in his own words: Two Pelican cases holding Quantum battery packs and strobes, camera bag with full array of lenses and smaller strobes,Continue reading “>Another Pic from a Fellow Yuba Mundo Rider”

> These photos were sent to me by fellow Mundo riders (thanks guys!). The above photo is from Max. Besides carrying what looks to me like a child’s seat (or is it two?), he also has a full-sized Shop-Vac, various tools, and a Go-Getter bag on the other side. I like the front pannier rackContinue reading “>Pics from Fellow Yuba Mundo Riders”

Chilly Evening Ride on the Mundo
This past week I have been so focused on upgrading the Mule and getting it in shape for the winter that I have not ridden the Mundo. After work I had a few errands to run and then later this evening I had an appointment to keep…all of which I did while riding the Mundo.Continue reading “Chilly Evening Ride on the Mundo”

No Car Necessary
George Bliss, co-owner of Hudson Urban Bicycles Photo Credit: Fred R. Conrad/New York Times The title of this post is taken directly from a July article in the New York Times titled, Hauling Cargo, No Car Necessary. It’s an inspiring article (and short video below) regarding, not surprisingly, cargo bikes. I’ve been interested in carryingContinue reading “No Car Necessary”

Stand Alone (part two)
This video was posted on Facebook today and I thought I’d share it in reference to a previous post. If I can manage to squirrel away the $77.00 I may still get this…but I’m still on the fence about it. I will say that this very brief video is pretty convincing. I’d love to hearContinue reading “Stand Alone (part two)”

Stand Alone
I’m thinking about purchasing one of these stands for the Mundo but am not sure if I should wait…it’s brand new and am wondering if it would be smarter to wait for the next version, to work out any kinks.. Currently I have the sidestand, which came standard on the bike. It works surprisingly wellContinue reading “Stand Alone”

S.U.V. and S.U.B.
Yesterday when I came out of my house there was this enormous brand new Hummer sitting in front of it…I was, and still am, in awe of its size. It seemed really out of place on our narrow Allentown street. Why, I couldn’t help but wonder, does someone need–or want–that much power in an urbanContinue reading “S.U.V. and S.U.B.”

Rain Riding
This evening after work I rode the Mundo to return a DVD that was due (lest I pay a late fee). Throughout the day today the humidity was so heavy the air had a certain haze to it. Rain was predicted but I was hoping I could make it home prior. As I made itContinue reading “Rain Riding”

Summer!
I Love this…as hot and humid as it has been this year I am really enjoying it. The garden is literally out of control. You can barley see the Mundo locked up to the hitching post behind the cucumber, broccoli, green beans, and corn. Whenever I start to get down about how hot it hasContinue reading “Summer!”

Do-It-Yourself Side Panels For The Mundo
I came across this at the Yuba Mundo blog. They are offering free and very simple plans to make your own skirt guard (pdf download). They’re promoting it as a tool to make it safer to carry people on the back of the bike, which it surely would, but I think it will probably beContinue reading “Do-It-Yourself Side Panels For The Mundo”
