A book bag containing–among other things–a cell phone, a magazine, and an electronic reader. A camera bag containing a camera and extra lens. Two cardboard boxes containing three loaves of freshly baked honey-oatmeal bread, a double order of chicken fingers (for my son) and a raw and cooked vegetable salad (for me). Things That can be Carried on a Bike (#508) and the View from My Handlebars
On the bike…approximately 150 hard-cover books in seven cardboard boxes on their way to my favorite local used book shop. The View…was taken on my way back to work…couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day to be on a bike. Urban Simplicity.
Things That Can be Carried on a Biike (#505) and a couple comments on how the miles can add up
On the bike…a box containing nearly a full sandwich loaf on its way to a local food pantry. I live fairly close to most things that occur within the realm of my average daily life (but what is average). I’ve consciously and gradually changed my life over the past decade to make this happen. ThisContinue reading “Things That Can be Carried on a Biike (#505) and a couple comments on how the miles can add up”
Things That Can be Carried on a Bike (#503), a couple comments, and a few things I saw along the way…
On the bike…a canvas bag containing an extra change of clothes (dry clothes in the event of rain, but it didn’t rain). A large plastic cooler full of prepared food and ice. Things That Can be Carried on a Bike (#496)…and nice conversation with another cyclist
On the bike…two bottles of red wine and a gym bag full of wet clothes. When I was riding to work yesterday morning I stopped at a traffic light waiting to make a left turn (no, this is not an image of that time–I don’t carry bottles of wine to work with me–this was laterContinue reading “Things That Can be Carried on a Bike (#496)…and nice conversation with another cyclist”
Things That Can be Carried on a Bike (#495) and a brief comment…
On the bike…Slightly more than $120 in groceries. I was shopping at a local grocery store yesterday. It’s not my favorite store but it is the closest to my house; this is mainly the reason I go there (but they do have good prices on produce). And one of the things I like about thisContinue reading “Things That Can be Carried on a Bike (#495) and a brief comment…”

A Few Things I Saw While Riding My Bike Today
I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions on this blog that one of the (many) things I enjoy about using a bicycle for transportation is that you get to see things that you may not if in a car, or if you did see them you may not be inclined to stop. Anyhow, as often is theContinue reading “A Few Things I Saw While Riding My Bike Today”

It was such a beautiful day today and felt really good to be on a bike….not too hot, not too cold, sunny, and a slight breeze. Stick This!
I’m not sure why but I felt like sharing (showing off) a couple new fender stickers (pictured above). They, plus the previously existing ones pictured below, are proudly displayed on my Torker; the Yuba remains stickerless. About a year ago I was at a local peace fair and purchased one of the below stickers andContinue reading “Stick This!”

These photos were all taken today in the course of running errands and just basically living life.
